Pam's Daily Wave...

Good Morning and Welcome to my Atlantic Life in Hatteras 😊

So today, gone are the majestic sunny skies, replaced by a stormy maelstrom, the outer bands of hurricane Ian...We started at 6am with a power outage, which if we had still been staying in Hillsborough, I would have been concerned about, as it may have been out for a long time - but here on Hatteras island, we have the most amazing linesman working with Cape Hatteras Electrical Cooperative. Therefore, I had no doubt that their team would be working on the problem area, and would have the power back up and running as soon as it was possible.....and, within a few hours, the lights were back on. We're truly thankful for this incredible team 😊

Although a 100lbs and normally my little alpha dog....Bodie gets super anxious during storms and hides under his blankie 😊

A bit of a contrast....from Wednesday night's incredible sunset skies

With the power back on....and having drunk way too many cups of coffee (we have a commercial gas stove, so no worries on preparing breakfast and making coffee), it was time for me to don my trusty Xtratufs (definitely not Ugg weather, way too wet🤪), and head to the beach.

It was a little wild and wet on my Hatteras beach this morning....with the winds howling and waves crashing. I said a silent prayer for all those in Florida, that had their lives devastated when this powerful storm slammed into their beautiful coastline.

My Hatteras beach this morning

Now back at the inn, I've dried off, poured another mug of delicious coffee....and, with the damp weather to continue all day, I'm cozying in to watch one of my absolute favorite TV series "Shetland" 💗

Our car park "moat"

Coffee and my fave TV series....💕

Until Next Time...

Take care, and....if you're in the storm's path, please stay safe

Love and Hugs,

Pam

Yep, I'm enjoying the return of Shetland, too! You might also like a new album by Shetland songwriter, fiddler, and tall ship captain, Barry Nisbet. Just came out in August and is about an early 20th long distance voyage on a Clyde-built ship, The Springbank Voyage.

Thank you for sharing. I’m afraid Dave‘s car may have been underwater in your moat. 😂 We miss you guys, but probably made the right decision to head home. We will see you son
