Hello and Welcome to Sunday from my Atlantic Life in Hatteras 😊
The Ocean soothes my soul like nothing else can...
Magically transported to another dimension of time and space
- where there is complete harmony with nature,
and time becomes an irrelevant measure
I'm not young, nor am I old,
There is a perpetual sense of hope and happiness,
I'm at peace with myself, and all that surrounds me
The sun rises....the sun sets
The tide comes in.... the tide goes out
There is perfect balance in my Atlantic world

Well, it was a glorious sunny morning, but a rather chilly one, with the winds out of the North. So after his breakfast, Bodie decided he should just go back to bed with his blankie (he may be a 100lb "alpha" dog, but he gets super anxious when the wind blows).
Bodie snuggles up....
Bodie during our last big storm...
As I mentioned in an earlier blog, we have family in town as well as guests, and it's been a super busy.....so yesterday with all the breakfast prep work done, I managed to sneak off to the beach to watch the sunrise. It was so beautiful, bright and sunny with a few clouds on the horizon, making the scene quite dramatic. Unfortunately, I got a little carried away with my photo taking - The water appeared quite calm (and the wind was nowhere near as chilly as today), and I was walking knee deep in the water. The sky and ocean were just too beautiful not to capture in a pic, so I bent down to get a shot from close to the level of the water.....it was the perfect shot.....until.....a large wave hit me side on and knocked me over completely into the water!!!!! My phone catapulted into my beloved ocean.
After retrieving said phone (which although wet, appeared to still be working), I headed back to the inn to dry off 😆.....and deposit my phone in a box of rice. Later it appeared to work, but that was to be short-lived - my poor phone then decided it had had quite enough of my adventures!
So, to anyone who is trying to contact me via text or phone, I'm sorry, until the AT&T fairies send me my replacement, I won't receive any messages, if you need to reach me, please e-mail me instead. Hopefully I won't be sans phone for long.
Now, if this had happened before my move to Hatteras, I would have been totally freaking out by now...how can you manage without a cellphone keeping you in constant contact with everyone and updated on the latest news!!!!
Fortunately, I no longer have the urge to have a phone permanently attached to my hands.... These days there is only one phone, and it is used more for taking photos than anything else, and the only concern I have just now, is not being able to get back to anyone that leaves me a message for a few days.
I'm now off to spend some time with Lloyd (my son) and his girlfriend, who arrived yesterday for a quick visit, and leave later today.
Until Next Time...
Take care, Stay Safe and...why not try taking a little break from your phone....even if only for a couple of hours 😊
Love and Hugs,
Pam
