Hello and Welcome to my Atlantic Week which is brought to you from my adventures in Scotland....🥰
Although most of my time in the past week was spent with my Mom and Dad, which was my reason for being in Scotland and was simply awesome.....💕 I did manage to squeeze in several mini adventures too - Walks around some of the beautiful and often historic places I was fortunate enough to grow up surrounded by, and of course, my day trip to Edinburgh.
Here goes...
The River Doon meets the Firth of Clyde
The River Doon
The next pics are sneak peeks from my latest walk, which included Ayr Beach, The River Doon, Bellisle Country Park, Rozelle Estate and Alloway Village
Belleisle Country Park (More about Bellisle in a later blog)
Bellisle Walled Garden
Bellisle Conservatory
I found these steps to nowhere....in Bellisle
Bellisle House, sadly burned down in June 2019 - I have some absolutely wonderful memories of spending several New Year's Eves' with my family at the old Bellisle House Hotel
Bellisle Golf Course
The Carrick Hills, Ayr as seen from Bellisle Golf Course
Next was a stroll around Rozelle House and Gardens....
Sherlock Holmes - part of the Story Walk at Rozelle Park
The first snowdrops of Spring
Taking a stroll around Rozelle Park
Leaving Rozelle, I then walked to Alloway Village
Alloway - the birthplace of poet Robert Burns (more to come in my next "Walk" blog)
The birthplace of poet Robert Burns
The "Selkirk Grace" is often recited at Burn's Suppers....
...here's the English Translation:
Some have meat but cannot eat,
Some have none that want it;But we have meat and we can eat,
So let the Lord be thanked.
More British candy...😊
More windmills...
On the road to Edinburgh
Changing buses at Glasgow
More pics of Edinburgh
View of Arran from Ayr on a chilly afternoon
Me, wrapped up against the coastal winds 😊
So, that was my Atlantic Week......Next week, I'll be back on the other side of the Atlantic, in my Hatteras home 💕
Until Next Time...
Take care, Stay Safe and....I hope you're having a wonderful weekend!
Love and Hugs,
Pam

Feel like on a thrill ride-along. Love Edinburg, the parks and gardens. Enthralled at the standing beautiful architectural facade of the Bellisle House, left after the fire. Shame cannot save and reconstruct this majestic building. Like so much of the buildings beyond amazed the way builders so expertly wove large stones together for construct walls and cobblestone streets. Loved Robert Burns poem. I read it perfectly as written. Thank you for this trip.
